# Neon Genie — 10-minute demo

From zero to a governed packet path. **Advisory only.**

Packaging examples are `local_only`; receipts declare external actions explicitly and host/provider retention remains `NOT_COMPUTABLE`.

## Prerequisites

- Git, Python 3  
- Hermes (optional for chat; packaging demo is CLI-only)  

## Minute 0–2: Install

Expected: full smoke `PASS` at current VERSION.

**Privacy notice:** Packaging runs default to `privacy_mode: local_only` (no Neon-initiated external research; telemetry off; artifacts under your `--out` path).
Hermes chat may research unless you set `research.enabled=false` / offline / keep `local_only`.
Neon records egress on the run receipt; it does not rewrite host or model-provider retention.

## Minute 2–4: Operator run (preferred path)

Ledger entries are **PROPOSED** only — never auto-canon.
